“Tofu and Plant-based alternatives may also be compatible, but they often produce less compact clumps that might lead to moisture accumulation in the waste drawer.”Official source

Sticking and wet clumps
Sticking can appear in a public report even when a litter matches a maker’s preferred class. The current data cannot isolate formula changes, humidity, cycle timing, cat output, or liner condition.

Official boundaries related to this issue
These statements are included only when they directly concern the failure mode. They do not name every SKU shown below.
Use the signal carefully
Separate a wet clump from a product-wide verdict
A clump on the liner is observable. Its cause usually is not. Record the surrounding conditions before changing several variables at once.
- Check 1Confirm the exact litter formula and note the cycle delay; a renamed or reformulated product may not match an older report.
- Check 2Check whether the clump is still wet, unusually large, or repeatedly attached in the same liner area.
- Check 3Change one factor at a time and stop generalizing if the result only appears under one cat, fill level, humidity, or cleaning condition.
Observation language
Record the observation before naming the cause
Use concrete, repeatable descriptions. Each line below separates what can be seen from conditions that must stay separate and conclusions the observation cannot support.
- 01Intervention
Release changes after one maintenance step
- Observable
- A later clump releases differently after a recorded liner-cleaning or leveling step while the same exact litter remains in the globe.
- Record separately
- Name the single maintenance action, previous and new liner condition, fill position, cycle delay, and whether the new clump had similar visible size and wetness.
- Cannot infer
- A better release after maintenance does not prove that cleaning was the only cause or that the exact litter cannot stick again in a different cycle.
- Comparable when
- Use a before-and-after pair only when the SKU is unchanged and any other changed condition is disclosed rather than silently treating two cycles as a controlled test.
- 02Formation
A clump exists before it reaches the liner
- Observable
- A defined clump can be seen before contact, then remains attached, stretches, or tears as the liner moves.
- Record separately
- Record the contact area, cycle delay, visible wetness, clump size, fill level, and whether the same location is involved again.
- Cannot infer
- This does not prove that the formula is unable to form clumps; formation occurred before the release failure became visible.
- Comparable when
- Compare another cycle only after preserving the same formula, fill, delay, and liner condition, or name the changed variable.
- 03Moisture
The clump is still wet when cycling begins
- Observable
- The surface appears glossy, soft, deformable, or leaves wet residue at the time the machine starts separating waste.
- Record separately
- Keep elapsed time, urine volume if known, humidity, litter depth, and any manual cycle timing as separate context fields.
- Cannot infer
- A wet clump at one interval does not establish a universal safe delay or prove that every later sticking event has the same cause.
- Comparable when
- A timing comparison is useful only when the exact product and other visible conditions remain stable between cycles.
- 04Location
Attachment repeats in one liner area
- Observable
- Residue or clumps repeatedly remain at the same physical spot rather than appearing across unrelated areas of the globe.
- Record separately
- Record liner condition, cleaning residue, surface damage, globe position, and whether a different clump releases from another area.
- Cannot infer
- A location-specific repeat does not by itself support a product-wide verdict or show that litter chemistry is the only variable.
- Comparable when
- Preserve a photo of the location and compare like-for-like cycles before changing both the liner condition and the litter.
- 05Release
An intact clump tears during release
- Observable
- A formed mass begins intact, then separates into a retained portion and falling fragments during movement or release.
- Record separately
- Distinguish the attached portion, the fragments that reach the drawer, and clean unused grains found nearby.
- Cannot infer
- Fragments after adhesion do not prove that the original clump was weak in free space, and they are not automatically clean-litter screen loss.
- Comparable when
- Use the same observation labels on the next cycle so formation, adhesion, tearing, and screening remain separate events.

These links narrow a broad symptom into a machine-specific or mechanism-specific check. They do not turn a report into a universal fix.

What this page cannot prove
PawExact has not run controlled sticking measurements for these pairs. A report is a signal tied to its stated context, not a universal product finding.
